HCA Vanadzor gets alerts on vote-buying
11:59, April 1, 2017 | News, Own news | Electoral RightsHCA Vanadzor got alerts that starting from yesterday, representatives of the Republican Party of Armenia and ‘Tsarukyan’ bloc started vote-buying by visiting the voters in their apartments and offering 10,000 AMD to each of them. Similar alerts were received mostly from Aragatsotn, Lori and Kotayk marzes (regions).
The alerting citizens said that the RPA representatives gave money to voters as vote-buying provided that the latter should take out with them from the voting booth the voting paper to confirm that they did not vote for ‘Tsarukyan’ bloc.
And citizens from Armavir and Gegharkunik marzes (regions) alerted that ‘Haykakan Veratsnund’ (‘Armenian Renaissance’) Party members distributed packages with watches, scarves, drinks and wallets.
According to the alarm, ‘Haykakan Veratsnund’ (‘Armenian Renaissance’) Party rating candidate Simon Hakobyan practiced vote-buying in Martuni and Astghadzor communities of Gegharkunik marz (region).
Note that the alarming citizens wished to keep their identities secret.
Note that before, newsbook.am news website posted a record on listing voters by representatives of RPA rating candidate nominated at voting district № 2 Artak Sargsyan’s campaign headquarters to buy their votes. Based on the records, HCA Vanadzor also submitted a crime report to the RA General Prosecutor’s Office.
Also, we demand that the RA Police and the NSS take more active operative and investigative actions to prevent such criminal practices and identify and hold liable the perpetrators.
