HCA Vanadzor to observe the process of local elections in Vanadzor and Gyumri

Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor provided a series of trainings for over 200 observers.
At the trainings in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Goris, Martuni and Gavar, the observers studied the process of organizing elections starting from the preparatory stage up to summarizing their findings, got familiar with the types of electoral frauds and the code of ethics, rights and duties of observers.
The trainings were held within the framework of the project ‘Long-term electoral assistance to the election-related stakeholders of Armenia’ funded by the Council of Europe.
The trained persons will observe the progress of the local elections to be held in Vanadzor and Gyumri on October 2, 2016. The observation will be carried out in cooperation with Union of Informed Citizens, Goris Press Club, Martuni Women’s Community Council and Armenian Helsinki Committee, with the support of the Council of Europe and Norway Helsinki Committee.
