Threats against Artur Sakunts must be investigated urgently.
The information published by Artur Sakunts, Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor, on the threats by some Facebook social network users to deprive him of life is of serious concern. Any form of such practices is unacceptable. The law enforcement agencies must urgently investigate this issue.
The RA Human Rights Defender’s Staff initiated a discussion procedure. At the moment, they took note of the preliminary information provided by the RA Prosecutor General’s Office about launching a checking procedure based on the report of Artur Sakunts.
The Human Rights Defender has already addressed a relevant letter to the law enforcement agency.
