Another excuse from the Prosecutor’s Office

The successors of the victims, the defendants and their attorney were present at the hearing. All three prosecutors finally appeared as well.
At the beginning of the hearing the prosecutor’s motioned for the trial to start de novo and Commander Ivan Grigoryan be summoned for interrogation The Court read out a note from the police stating that it was not possible to find out Ivan Grigoryan’s place of residence. Defense attorney, Hayk Alumyan, noted that the motion was just an excuse to protract the transition to the court debates and strongly objected the motion.
The Court rejected the motion and moved to the stage of court debates.
The accusing party requested a five-minute break which for some unknown reason lasted about an hour.
After the break one of the prosecutors read the introductory part of their speech, where he insisted on the charges and then asked the Court to adjourn until December 4, 2012, to continue with presenting the speech.
On November 29, 2012, several non-governmental organizations expressed their concern about the “Mataghis” Case. On November 29, 2012, Defense Attorney Hayk Alumyan and member of the Army in Reality Civic Initiative Lala Aslikyan spoke at a press conference voicing the concerns about the case.
