Dear Monsieur Gerard Collomb
00:00, October 14, 2006 | Announcements | The Rights of Conflict VictimsDear Monsieur Gerard Collomb,
Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly-Vanadzor is shocked with the news received from Lyon on the dismissal of your deputy Sabiha Ahmine.
The impression is that she was dismissed because of her support to Armenian-Turkish Dialogue meeting.
Our organization expresses its deepest protest on the fact stressing that it is anti democratic. Moreover, France has always been a democratic country and it has always been an example for many countries.
Our organization applies to you calling not to be indifferent towards that fact, as it is important to take into consideration the meeting held in France. It was a good start for the improvement of further relations between Armenia and Turkey, as well as for the cooperation between the Armenian and Turkish communities in France, the necessity of which is undeniable.
Our experience in the sphere of peaceful regulation of conflicts showed that such an approach which does not promote formation of dialogue between representatives of the countries involved in the conflict, has always been from those powers that were against peaceful regulation of conflicts. This circumstance is not understandable in your case. We express our concern about the thing that such a decision will support those who are for the war.
We again apply to you demanding fair decision.
Sincerely,
Artur Sakunts
coordinator of HCA Vanadzor
