Exhibition “Forced Migration-refugees in Armenia”
13:11, June 19, 2013 | Press Release | The Rights of Conflict VictimsVanadzor (HCAV) – Millions of families have lost their homes to violence and war. One refugee family without shelter is too many. As a contribution to the World Refugee Day which is honoured throughout the world on the 20th June the Helsinki Citizens Assembly Vanadzor contributes a photo exhibition about refugees in Armenia.
The exhibition “Forced Migration – refugees in Armenia” will provide general data about refugees worldwide and combine them with regional data and conducted interviews with local refugees. Supplemented with various photos of refugees and their environment the HCAV wants to raise awareness about the fate of refugees.
Throughout the world there are officially more than 15 million refugees. Armenia is not isolated. Due to the crisis in Azerbaijan and Iraq and more recently in Syria the state of Armenia continues to struggle to absorb the estimated number of 9900 refugees in Armenia.
Helsinki Citizens Assembly Vanadzor invites everyone to the public exhibition “Forced Migration – refugees in Armenia” to the opening of the exhibition in the Culture Palace, Vanadzor on 22th June at 15:00. The exhibition will last for one week.
