HCA Vanadzor’s Statement regarding RA Military Prosecutor G. Kostanyan’s Demand to file a Criminal case against SIS former Chief A. Mirzoyan and former Judge of Syunik Region Court of Common Jurisdiction S. Aghabekyan
11:25, May 8, 2013 | AnnouncementsConducting an apparently illegal criminal prosecution against Hrazdan city resident Hayk Movsisyan, reaching an unlawful accusatory verdict and carrying out activities targeted at concealing crimes committed in relation to him, which were accompanied with keeping him in illegal detention and causing to commit a suicide were implemented on the part of high-rank officials including RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, RA Military Prosecutor G. Kostanyan, SIS former Chief A. Mirzoyan and former Judge of Syunik Region Court of Common Jurisdiction S. Aghabekyan, MoD Investigative Service investigators and medical examination administrators through organized and directed actions, which is a monstrous atrocity against a human being.
Dismissing some of the officials from office is an obvious breach of principles on equality before the law and the rule of law.
Based on the abovementioned, we demand that RA Prosecutor General A. Hovsepyan take this statement as a report on crime and conduct a comprehensive, complete and objective investigation targeted at the revelation of the crimes committed by the aforementioned officials and give a legal estimation to it, in the meanwhile, keeping the public posted about the results.
The failure to carry out the norms and authorizations as defined by the law will be viewed as concealing of a crime organized in relation to the RA citizen on the state highest level as well as patronage of criminals against justice.
