HCA Vanadzor hosted the students of Vanadzor School N 16
18:29, December 5, 2017 | News, Own newsOn November 29, 2017 Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office hosted the students of Vanadzor School N 16. They were interested in the activities of the Organization in the field of human rights.
First, the students expressed their ideas on human rights, the types of human rights violations and ways of defending those rights. Following this, Ophelia Zalyan, HCA Vanadzor Program Coordinator, presented how to defend human rights and how this is done by HCA Vanadzor.
She touched upon the legislative proposals and the monitoring conducted in closed and semi-closed institutions as well as the changes made thanks to the activities of the Organization.
The students addressed questions in regard to the peculiarities of monitoring in closed institutions. This was followed by a discussion around particular cases, such as the strategic proceedings aimed at defending a five-year-old child’s right to life.
