NA Adopted a Draft on making amendments and supplements to the RA law on “Psychiatric Care”
07:00, March 29, 2013 | Press Release | Rights of PatientsOn February 25, 2012 the National Assembly adopted the draft laws on making supplements to the RA law on “Psychiatric Care” and on “Advocacy” by the first reading.
The legislative recommendations were made by Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor , while, Ara Babloyan, Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood and D. Harutyunyan, Chairman of RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs also came up with legislative initiatives.
Pursuant to the new law, persons that receive treatment and/or care in a psychiatric institution will be provided with getting free of charge legal assistance through professional advocates (Public Defender’s Office).
