Participants of Assembly in Liberty Square Still Face Intimidation
17:47, December 4, 2015 | News, Own news | Electoral RightsToday, HCA Vanadzor received another report from participants of the assembly in Liberty Square, Yerevan stating that police officers visited them at their places and told them to appear before the police with no mention of any substantiation behind such demand. And some other assembly participants claimed that some people followed and regularly threatened them and tried to collect information about their whereabouts from their neighbors and other close acquaintances.
Some days before, HCA Vanadzor got an alert that people from Vanadzor leaving for Yerevan to attend the assembly on December 3 again faced obstacles. In particular, they mentioned that on Vanadzor-Yerevan highway the drivers of the 2 vehicles transferring them refused to move forward in the outskirts of Spitak town and of Aparan town, respectively, on the pretext that they faced threats by the higher bodies; particularly, one of the drivers noted that they threatened to fire his wife working for a medical institution.
