Presentation of Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish Relations to Turkish and American Youth
00:00, July 25, 2011 | Press Release | The Rights of Conflict VictimsOn July 23, 2011 a meeting at Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor office was convened with the participation of representatives from NGOs based in USA, Turkey and Armenia.
The goal was to meet with NGOs functioning in Armenia that implement various projects within the frames of Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish partnership.
During the meeting, A. Sadikyan, head of the organization’s peacebuilding department, presented the organization’s background history as well as the goal and activities of projects implemented within the frames of Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish Relations, which were targeted at Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, establishment and development of mutual trust and confidence among the representatives of conflicting societies.
The organization’s experience and accomplishments in this field were also presented.
Joint reports, films and a blog were created by the mutual efforts of youth from Armenia, Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan, as a result of knowledge obtained in the frames of various trainings. The Organization’s plans for the upcoming 5 years, particularly, within the frames of Armenian- Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish partnership were addressed.
At the end of the meeting, the participants were able to get the answers to their questions via Q/A session, which were basically focused on the rights of conflict victims, possibilities of Armenian-Azerbaijani partnership, and the activities carried out by the organization in the field of advocacy.
