Response to Crime Report Delayed for 3 Months
18:20, January 30, 2015 | News, Own news | Right to Fair TrialOn October 2, 2014, the HCA Vanadzor filed a crime report to the RA General Prosecutor’s Office to reveal and hold liable the persons responsible for the inadequate medical aid provided to Erik Eksuzyanm a resident of Dsegh village, RA Lori Marz (region).
However, the only information on the crime report received as of January 24, 2015, was that the report had been forwarded by the RA General Prosecutor’s Office to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Yerevan city and therefrom to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan city and was later readdressed to the Erebuni Department of the RA Police.
Based on the fact that crime reports are to be resolved immediately, and the natural or legal persons who have filed the crime report are to be notified of the decision thereon within 5 days upon taking the decision, on January 13, 2015, the HCA Vanadzor applied to the Erebuni Department of the RA Police to receive the decisions made on the crime reported on October 2, 2014.
On January 24, 2015, the HCA Vanadzor received the response of the Investigative Divisions of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of the Yerevan Investigation Department under the RA Investigative Committee stating that it was decided on October 30, 2014 to initiate a criminal case based on the crime report by the HCA Vanadzor. It follows from the response of the Investigative Division that a questioning was also performed under the initiated criminal case. However, the HCA Vanadzor was not informed on the further proceedings of its crime report.
