Recently Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor, human rights defender Artur Sakunts posted a note on his facebook profile which gave rise to heated discussions and disputes. Many began insulting the human rights activist by disseminating his pictures and issuing various statements in his address. With hi post, Sakunts addressed Putin’s upcoming visit, by particularly noting, “Whoever does not come out on Puntin’s day to resist and get him off, it means that person is a dweeb irrespective of his position, occupation, gender, age, it will mean being a slave, devoid of minimum human dignity… this is it… if you have other suggestions, let me know.” Regarding this post, we inquired explanation from the author.

– Don’t you think, Mr. Sakunts, your statement was harsh? 

– The treatment towards the RA citizen, annexation to the Customs Union is itself quite degrading. I termed the attitude of Serzh Sargsyan and his supporters towards their citizens as it actually is. Why do people get insulted I do not understand.

– Many people disagree with your style, they ask in confusion if they do not initiate anything against Putin, then do your statements relate to them, either? 
– But don’t they get insulted when Serzh Sargsyan annexes Armenia to tyranny without considering its citizens’ opinion. Don’t they get insulted that Serzh Sargsyan bring Putin from outside to keep the power?
