19:56, June 26, 2018 | News, Own news | Sasna TsrerToday, Sari Tagh protesters Hrachya Boyajyan, Arman Adamyan and Zhora Avetisyan have been released on a signature bond at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan.
Previously, HCA Vanadzor advocate Arayik Zalyan, Hrachya Boyajyan’s defender, submitted the motion on substituting the preventive measure in the form of detention with a preventive measure in the form of a signature bond or that of a bail. As to the defenders of the others, they have submitted motions on changing the preventive measure today.
The Prosecuting Attorney objected to the motion on releasing Hrachya Boyajyan, mentioning that he could evade investigation again as there had already been such an attempt. Hr. Boyajyan was charged with illegal crossing of the state border of the RA during the period from July 19, 2016 to August 31, 2016.
In response to the objection of the Prosecuting Attorney, defender Arayik Zalyan mentioned that now the situation is different and that the motives that Hr. Boyajyan had before do not exist today; he trusts in the justice system in the RA and is ready to return to the court for trial and not to evade investigation.
Upon discussing the motions, Judge Anna Danibekyan retired to the deliberation room in order to render a decision.
By decision delivered at the end of the working day, the Court released the three defendants on a signature bond.
The next court session is set to be held at 2.30 pm on August 10, 2018.
