07:41, December 10, 2013 | News, Other newsDecember 10 is the international Human Rights Day. In a talk with irates.am Chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor, human rights defender Artur Sakunts expressed his opinion that human rights state in Armenia has aggravated.
“We have 14 political prisoners, including Shant Harutyunyan and his friends, the violence applied by the police accompanied with grave violations of freedom of association and assembly, the violence applied by the police against journalists, the violence against citizens, the obviously negligent attitude of the judicial power against their rights and responsibilities are the proof of that”, stated Artur Sakunts. He drew the attention to September 3 notorious decision, whereby, though a one-person decision of Serzh Sargsyan, Armenia should access such a system of value, which is complete challenge of human rights. The human rights defender finds it a most serious issue the fact that the murder cases of 10 victims of March 1 are yet unrevealed.
