18:34, March 21, 2018 | News, Own newsOn March 13, 2018 the judicial proceedings in the case of protester Hasmik Evoyan commenced again at the RA Administrative Court.
Hasmik Evoyan is one of the participants in the assembly held in March 2016, before the examination of the motion on extending Gevorg Safaryan’s detention.
With its claim filed against the protester, the RA Police demanded that she should be brought to administrative liability under Article 180.1 (11 and 15) of the RA Code on Administrative Offenses, while Hasmik Evoyan and her representative T. Siradeghyan, lawyer at the representative office of HCA Vanadzor in Yerevan, demanded to declare the police actions unlawful.
After A. Tovmasyan, the judge examining the case, was appointed Judge of the Administrative Court of Appeal, it was reassigned to Judge A. Mirzoyan, and the judicial proceedings commenced again.
At the court hearing held yesterday, the parties insisted on their claims in their opening statements.
S. Melikyan, the representative of the RA Police, stated that the protesters did not fulfill the demand of the police, following which they were arrested.
And T. Siradeghyan, H. Evoyan’s representative, after addressing questions to the plaintiff, indicated that no minutes had been taken with regard to Article 180.1 (11) of the RA Code on Administrative Offenses; thus, the proceedings pertaining to that part should be suspended. Then, she objected to the claim filed by the Police, mentioning that H. Evoyan’s actions lacked elements of crime attributed to them.
T. Siradeghyan also filed a counter-claim; she presented arguments on the violations of the protesters’ rights by police officers and asked to declare the police actions unlawful.
The representative of the Police objected to the counter-claim.
Then, the court examined the existing evidence of the case, including the mass media publications and videos.
The parties delivered their closing statements.
The court is to deliver the judgment at 5.50 pm on April 3, 2018.
