The defendant and defenders in the case of inciting serviceman Gevorg Khachatryan to commit suicide did not show up at the court; the court hearing was adjourned
12:26, May 25, 2018 | News, Own newsThe subsequent court hearing on inciting serviceman Gevorg Khachatryan to commit suicide was scheduled to be held at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Syunik Province on May 24, 2018.
The interests of Gevorg Khachatryan’s legal successor are represented by Artur Sakunts, HCA Vanadzor Chairman, and Tatevik Siradeghyan, lawyer at the Organization’s representative office in Yerevan.
Defendant M. Voskanyan, the defender of the latter and H. Muradyan, namely Karen Barseghyan, and defendant H. Muradyan’s defender Seda Safaryan did not show up at the court.
H. Muradyan had no information on the absence of his defender.
S. Khachatryan, the accuser, mentioned that M. Voskanyan’s defender K. Barseghyan called him at around 08.30 am and informed that M. Voskanyan felt bad at night and was taken to hospital. Therefore, he was unable to show up at the court.
Presiding Judge N. Ohanyan mentioned that he was aware of M. Voskanyan’s state of health.
As to defenders S. Safaryan and K. Barseghyan not showing up at the court, he qualified it as a disrespectful attitude towards the court and noted that a judicial sanction would be imposed against them in the case of demonstrating such conduct in the future.
Due to the absence of the defender and the defendants, the court hearing was adjourned and scheduled for 11.00 am on June 8, 2018.
