The HCA Vanadzor proceeds with the training series funded by the OSF-Armenia under the HCA Vanadzor Sustainability in the RA in light of Democracy and Human Rights Challenges Project. On October 8, 2015, the training on Rights and Duties of Conscripts and Servicemen and Legal Regulations on Protection of Conscripts’ Rights held in the city of Armavir was facilitated by Anahit Chilingaryan, HCA Vanadzor Legal Analyses and Initiatives Department Coordinator, and Legal Analysis specialist Susanna Davtyan. They presented the rights and obligations of conscripts before and during the conscription as well as issues on military registration, recruitment, conscripts’ fitness for military service, as well as relevant regulatory legislation and its enforcement practices. The participants covered both young people of pre-conscription and conscription age and families of servicemen and representatives of various NGOs who asked questions and discusses with the facilitators various situations. In the meantime, HCA Vanadzor lawyer Suzanna Soghomonyan provided legal advice to the participants who had registered in advance.
