Upon the motion of the defender, the examination of the case on the doctor charged with causing the death of a new mother has been adjourned for the second time
11:13, May 18, 2018 | News, Own news | Right to LifeToday, on May 15, the examination of the case of Hripsime Nazlukhanyan, a new mother who died at Vanadzor Medical Center in October 2016, was set to be held at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Lori Region.
David Shahverdyan, the senior obstetrician-gynecologist at Vanadzor Medical Center, was charged with non-performance or improper performance of professional duties towards the new mother who died a few hours after the delivery.
HCA Vanadzor advocates Arayik Zalyan and Ani Chatinyan are representing the interests of the aggrieved party.
Today, upon the motion of D. Shahverdyan’s defender Artak Voskanyan, the court hearing has been adjourned for the second time already. The defender informed the court that he had another court hearing and was therefore unable to show up at the court with regard to the given case. This angered the aggrieved party.
The legal successors of the victim demanded that the court should give an assessment to the defender’s act and ensure the examination of the case. Judge S. Gzogyan responded rudely to this, asking the representative of the aggrieved party to leave the courtroom.
The next court hearing is set to be held at 12.00 on June 5, 2018.
