The appeal on former National Security Service officer’s case rejected
On September 24, 2016, the RA Court of Criminal Appeals, presided by Judge G. Melik-Sargsyan, resumed examination of the appeal filed on March 17, 2016 by Tanya Hakobyan, attorney of former RA National Security Service officer Hrant Mazmanyan, against the judgment of the General Jurisdiction Court of First Instance of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan city, RA.
Attorney motioned to question another NSS officer
On September 15, 2016, the RA Court of Criminal Appeals, presided by Judge G. Melik-Sargsyan, examined the appeal filed by Tanya Hakobyan, attorney of Hrant Mazmanyan, former officer of the RA National Security Service, against the judgment of the General Jurisdiction Court of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan city, RA, dated March 17, 2016. Note that the court found H. Mazmanyan guilty of the act under Article 309(1) of the RA Criminal Code and exempted him from criminal liability based on the expiry of the limitation period.

As reported before, on May 20, 2016, the RA Court of Appeals dismissed the appeal against the ruling of the General Jurisdiction Court of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts of Yerevan, RA, submitted by Tatevik Siradeghyan, lawyer at HCA Vanadzor Office in Yerevan and representative of Karen Kyupelyan detained illegally for almost a day at the administrative premises of NSS.

Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor has already reported that by its ruling of March 23, 2016, the General Jurisdiction Court of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts, Yerevan, RA dismissed the complaint submitted by Tatevik Siradeghyan, lawyer at Yerevan Office of HCA Vanadzor and representative of Karen Kyupelyan who had been detained illegally for almost a day at the administrative premises of NSS. By the complaint above, T. Siradeghyan required that the Court annulled the RA SIS Senior Investigator for High-Profile Cases A. Ohanyan’s decree of October 19, 2015 on not initiating criminal prosecution.
