The RA Cassation Court returned the appeal of Tigran Varyan’s case
On December 5, 2013 Vano Varyan’s representative Artur Sakunts sent a cassation appeal to the RA Cassation Court with a demand to quash October 28, 2013 decision made by the RA Criminal Court of Appeals and send the case for trial to the same court with new personnel.

However, as we had already informed, Artur Sakunts, chairman of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor, who is the representative of Vano Varyan, the legal successor of T. Varyan, stated they were not satisfied with the decision reached by the court and were going to appeal the decision in the RA Court of Appeals.
Are health causes an excuse for discharging?
Human rights defender Artur Sakunts, who served as the victim’s successor over two cases of Dimaksyan and Varyan doesn’t recall one single case, when the court trial was put off because of the Judge’s health related issues.

Taking as grounds that the defendants didn’t answer the questions, Artur Sakunts submitted a motion not to involve the investigator as a witness, but the court declined it not allowing to find out from the investigator why the witnesses had been in custody and had given evidence in such conditions, whereby casting doubt over the veracity of those testimonies.
