State Officials, not their sons, are the real criminals
00:00, September 29, 2011 | News | PoliceIt is not surprising that in many of the current robbery assaults, involvement by state officials’ children is often mentioned. We have known for several years now, that police officials, patrons of state officials, oligarchs and their bodyguards have been committing crimes.
It is also no longer a secret that these individuals have been acting with the knowledge of law enforcement bodies, the latter surrendering to pressures and orders of higher-ranking political officials. The disclosure of the last case by the police is a subject for doubt as our legal system does not provide grounds for trust. Even in cases of common crimes, the factors of justice and objectivity are rarely functioning. Unfortunately, the real perpetrators of crimes are not brought to liability: in fact, the investigation is conducted so that people, who have had the least involvement with the crime, are usually held liable.
I am assured that the disclosed case and the publicity ascribed to it are included in the framework of the policy recently adopted by the government. The government wants to reveal crimes showing that amendments are made and that it performs its work adequately. We can include the arrest cases of Margar Ohanyan and HovhannesTamamyan in this context. Even if it is confirmed that some of the representatives of the criminal group were the sons of state officials or their close relatives, one should still not hope that the authorities will be held liable. The law does not define standards of the system, the inevitability of liability is not primary, and it means there is no priority given to law.
The law functions as much as the state officials allow it, as much as it does not damage them and they will never allow more than that. In the near future, it will clear up in which situations the individuals arrested as a result of mutual relations and agreement of the political entities, will appear. It will be apparent who will become a scapegoat in this case. It is a pre-electoral phase and more victims are anticipated.
The patrons of yesterday’s criminals are today’s authorities; the revealed group is the logical continuation of the authorities that periodically deprives the whole country and takes the lives and property of its citizens. The reality is completely within the framework of their working style and nature. I would like to pose this question, “Who is Tsarukyan Gagik, don’t you know Haykaz Baghramyan or Alik Mirzabekyan and Yuri Khachaturov? Did you just now find out that the state officials and their sons are the criminals? Be aware, the people are not naïve”, notes Sakunts.
