By addressing the threats against Shant’s son Shahen Harutyunyan and the incident at school, Shant Harutyunyan’s ex-wife Ruzanna Badalyan, today issued the statement below.

“When the Police Chief and his deputy visited Shant for the first time, they threatened to exert violence against his son. Shant told it himself and Artur Sakunts also confirmed it. There was such a fact that they threatened Shant with his underage son. I do not rule out that all this is its logical continuation.”

Aravot.am inquired from Chairman of HCA Vanadzor Artur Sakunts about the statements of Ruzanna Badalyan regarding the threats made by the Police Chief and his deputy. He informed the following, “Ruzanna has conveyed the truth. The fact that we also reported on crime to the Special Investigation Service and the Prosecutor General regarding the apprehension of Shant Harutyunyan and his friends and his underage son being waited at the Police Department until 6 am is also meant here. At the meeting with me Shant told that during his stay at the Police station, the Police Chief along with several of his deputies came, and apart from hitting him, he also threatened to exert violence against his son. Shant told me about it as stated. Pressure was applied against Shant through threats of exerting violence against his son.  Keeping an underage child in a police station without any grounds and releasing only at 6 am is itself illegal and violence. Also failure to carry our criminal prosecution on such ground is also promotion of violence. ”
