Instead of taking measures on electoral fraud signal, the police replied with a letter
20:47, October 2, 2016 | News, Own news | Electoral Rights | PoliceDuring his observation at polling station 30/51 in Vanadzor, A. Sakunts, Chairman of HCA Vanadzor, signaled to the chairperson of the electoral commission of the polling station about crowding of people at a distance of 50 meters from the polling station; at the chairperson’s order, the police officers opened the entrance to the polling station from the vehicles and people though they should have done so at their own initiative.
In response to the signal of A. Sakunts, the police “asked” by its letter for further information and invited the observer who identified the violations to provide clarification.
At the same time, they stated that it was assigned to set enhanced police control over the polling station.
The letter in response to the reply of the police stated that given the urgency of the issue, the police was not expected to react to the signal by a letter. At the same time, further information was provided that a group of persons always stayed in the area at a distance of 50 meters from the polling station and had a talk with the persons who took part in the voting.
In particular, the letter noted: “The atmosphere in the area adjacent to the polling station is created not by facts but rather by actions that should be noticed, felt and seen.”
