David Papyan has been released
00:00, October 26, 2007 | Right to Fair TrialThe citizen of Vanadzor, David Mher Papyan, was released from Lori marz Court of First Appearance on November 26th, 2007. The Prosecutor’s Office of Lori marz took away the accusation towards David Papyan before the end of the trial. David Papyan’s fault was not proven, and all the means were exhasted.
It should be mentioned that HCA Vanadzor office was interested in asserting David Papyan’s rights from the moment of bringing the accusation against him, and that it has taken part in all the judicial sittings.
An accusation against David Papyan was braught according to the 7th, 8th and 11th points of the 2nd article of RA Criminal Legislation for the fact that he, allegedly, having had a criminal agreement beforehand with Lori marz Gugark village inhabitant A. Avetisyan killed with a knife Lori marz Gugarq village inhabitant M. Melkonyan with the intention of hiding the crime on January 26th, 2007. Lori marz Court of First Appearance chose imprisonment for 2 months as prevention means.
On March 29th of the same year the period of his imprisonment was prolonged with two more months, and with one more month on May 23rd, 2007.
The judicial sitting took place on Augost 20th, 2007, and was adjourned until September 12th. The last judicial sitting on David Papyan’s case in Lori marz Court of First Appearance took place today, on October 26th.
