Examination of Lia Misakyan’s Case Appeals Adjourned Again
16:45, September 23, 2015 | News, Own news | Children's rights, Right to Life | Lia MisakyanOn September 8, 2015, a court hearing on the case of 2-year-and-3-month-old Lia Misakyan’s death was scheduled at the RA Criminal Court of Appeal, presided by judge G. Avetisyan. Note that the previous court hearing on this case was adjourned due to the absence of the prosecutor. This time again, Prosecutor Davit Karapetyan did not attend the hearing due to another case scheduled for the same time earlier. Defendants Lilit Vardanyan’s and Zarine Ayvazyan’s attorneys G. Hovhannisyan and Y. Sargsyan did not attend the hearing as well. Also, Z. Vardanyan’s another attorney, Mihran Poghosyan, Member of the RA Chamber of Advocates was involved to protect her interests. L. Vardanyan’s advocate G. Hovhannisyan submitted a letter to the court stating that he was on vacation till September 30 and asked to adjourn the court hearing. The Court considered it necessary that the acquittal appeals were examined in the presence of Prosecutor D. Karapetyan, and therefore decreed to adjourn the hearing. The next hearing is scheduled for October 5, 2015, 11 am.
