The CIS Investigator who Terminated the Case of ‘Neutralizing’ Arman Yengibaryan is Appointed the Head of the Investigation Department
00:00, November 22, 2011 | News | Right to Life | PoliceGevorg Gevorgyan, the investigator who terminated the proceedings of the case of ArmanYengibaryan, who was shot dead by a police officer on June 14, 2011 at Garegin Nzhdeh Metro Station, will be the new head of the Yerevan Investigation Department of the Criminal Case Department.
When terminating the case, G. Gevorgyan found that the actions of the officer for killing an individual, who was not yet, a legal suspect, were lawful. Further, he did not recognize Arman’s father as the victim’s legal successor. By the November 17th order of the RA Chief of Police Vova Gasparyan, Gevorg Gevorgyan replaced Mushegh Babayan as head of the department.
Before the change, G. Gevorgyan was conducting the proceedings of the cases of the ANC young activists, and the recent incident between the Governor of Syunik Region, Surik Khachatryan and entrepreneur Silva Hambardzumyan.
