On January 12, 2017 the examination of the case of Suren Mosinyan’s death proceeded at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor Provinces.
It should be recalled that S. Mosinyan died on May 29, 2016; while performing military service, his health deteriorated, and he passed away on the way to hospital.
On the basis of the complex forensic and military-medical examinations assigned in regard to the criminal case, a charge was leveled against the cardiologist of the territorial conscription commission in Artashat.
In accordance with the expert conclusion, cardiologist Seda Tadevosyan could have foreseen the possible negative consequences of not treating the given disease, including death.
The doctors involved in the conscription commission were interrogated at the sessions of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor Provinces. Part of them stated that Suren Mosinyan’s heart rate of 110 was not considered to be a deviation from the norm.
Upon ending the interrogation of the witnesses summoned in connection with the case, the prosecutor filed a motion to also interrogate the Military Commissar of the Artashat Military Commissariat and the Head of the Conscription Commission. The court upheld the motion.
They will clarify at the Court how the conscription procedure is organized, and what documents are compiled by the doctors involved in the commission after finishing the conscripts’ necessary and compulsory examinations.
The next court session is scheduled for 2.00 pm on February 8, 2018.
