The Penitentiary Department has submitted a clarification regarding the convict’s alert
17:11, May 17, 2018 | News, Own newsToday, on May 17, HCA Vanadzor published Armavir Penitentiary Institution convict Armen Shamiryan’s alert about the administrative staff of the penitentiary institution refusing to accept and send the letters addressed to the RA Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense to the addressees on May 15, 2018.
A short time ago, we received the clarification of the Penitentiary Department of the RA MoJ about the alert. See the full clarification presented below:
“According to convict at Armavir Penitentiary Institution Armen Shamiryan’s “alert”, which was publicized through mass media outlets, he “handed letters to the administrative staff of the penitentiary institution in order to send them to the addresses on May 15. However, the employees of the penitentiary institution refused to take the letters.”
With regard to the above mentioned, we inform that the aforementioned does not correspond to reality. In fact, A. Shamiryan’s letters were accepted at the penitentiary institution under the procedure established by law.
We should inform that the letters are delivered from Armavir Penitentiary Institution twice a week only, namely on Tuesday and Friday, in the morning hours.
